Apprentice Engineers training with Themis at Burnley College took time out of their busy schedule this week to take part in a Toolbox Talk outlining the importance of health and safety within the workplace.
Representatives from BCW, a leading precision engineering employer based in Burnley, came into the industry-standard workshops at Themis at Burnley College to deliver their presentation and talk about their own experiences.
Around 80 Apprentice Engineers, who are starting their careers with some of the North West's top employers, attended the briefing to gain additional knowledge which they can take back to the workplace.
"It is hugely beneficial to our Apprentices to gain this valuable insight into the vital role that Health and Safety plays within the Engineering sector and how its principles govern life in the workplace. We are grateful to BCW for coming in to deliver this important information and allow our Apprentices to apply their new-found knowledge in the workplace," said Robert Stott, industry-expert welding Tutor who works closely with Apprentices to ensure they have the skills, knowledge and behaviours which place them at the heart of industry.
