Representing the future of Engineering, this award recognises the Engineer, who may be still in their Apprenticeship – at whatever level - or who has completed their programme within the last 12 months, who is a recognised innovator.
The award is designed to acknowledge the individual who sees solutions and opportunities where others see problems. It will be presented to the individual who has made a recognised impact on their Employer’s business in terms of cost, time or resource through their innovation and ideas. The innovation could be solving a current issue or could be future-proofing the business.
Judges will be looking for an individual who is a self-starter and has the confidence and communication skills to take a project from concept to completion and remain focussed throughout. The individual will be a forward-thinker and will be able to adapt ideas from other industries and apply them to Engineering to solve problems and create opportunities. They will be able to demonstrate how their innovation has benefited their Employer in real terms and how they have used the experience to further develop their skills and knowledge as a Themis Apprentice. The winner will be a problem solver with the enthusiasm and adaptability of a natural leader.
