Two highly-motivated Advanced Themis Apprentices travelled to Wales for the regional finals of the World Skills contest, competing against some of the very best young Electricians.

Sam Helps and Mateusz Dzieciol tested their skills and knowledge in the contest which was staged at Coleg Cambria, in Wrexham.

Sam, who is 27, from Bolton, is a Themis Apprentice Electrician at SPJ Electrical Installations in Bury. Mateusz, 30, from Bury, is a Themis Apprentice  Electrician at M3 Construction, Manchester. Both are taking Advanced Apprenticeships.

Themis offers its dedicated Apprentices the opportunity to take part in national and international contests where they can take on the very best in their chosen sector.

Recent successes have seen Themis Apprentice welder Tyler Atkinson, who works at WEC, reach the finals of the World Skills contest, representing the UK in Russia this summer. Apprentice Electrician Zack Duxbury also won the regional prestigious SPARKS contest, representing the North West in the finals in Bracknell. He was following in the footsteps of Kane Barker who made the finals the previous year.
