A Level Biology students carry out environmental experiments

posted on

Dedicated students taking A Level Biology at Burnley College Sixth Form Centre headed out of the classroom and laboratory to carry out experiments in the surrounding countryside.

They had designed an experiment which would allow them to measure the impact of an environmental feature on the abundance of a species.

They investigated whether the depth of a river affected the number of different species found in the water and whether light intensity altered the number of plants at the base of a tree.

The work formed part of the students' practical endorsement of their A Level studies.
