About the course
This course is designed for learners who are interested in technology, digital creativity and developing the skills needed for further study and employment. This practical course provides an introduction to a range of digital and workplace skills through hands-on projects and real-world activities.
You will explore creative media, digital design and image creation while developing confidence in the use of industry-standard software and everyday IT applications. Alongside your digital studies, you will learn how to work as part of a team, solve problems, communicate with others and develop the personal skills valued by employers and colleges.
The course is designed to build confidence and independence while helping you develop the knowledge and behaviours needed to succeed in education and the workplace. You will have opportunities to create digital content, develop your creative ideas and apply your learning through practical tasks that reflect the way digital skills are used in the real world.
This qualification provides a strong foundation for progression to Level 1 programmes in Computing and Creative Digital subjects (Media, Game Art, Esports).

Assessment
Assessment is based on the completion of practical activities and a portfolio of evidence built throughout the course. You will produce a range of work that demonstrates the skills and knowledge you have developed, including digital media projects, creative design work, IT tasks and workplace-related activities. Your tutors will assess your progress through observations, discussions, practical tasks and completed coursework. There are no formal examinations, allowing you to demonstrate your learning through hands-on activities and real-world projects. Throughout the course, you will receive regular feedback and support to help you achieve your qualification and prepare for progression to further study.
