About the course

Designed specifically for adult learners, this part-time course provides an excellent introduction to plastering techniques and the construction industry, whether you are considering a career change, looking to enhance your DIY skills, or planning to progress into employment within the trade.

Delivered in a supportive workshop environment, the course combines hands-on practical training with essential underpinning knowledge. You will learn how to work safely with plastering tools, equipment, and materials while developing the skills needed to prepare backgrounds, apply plaster finishes, and produce high-quality surface finishes to industry standards.

Throughout the programme, you will gain experience in a range of core plastering techniques, including solid plastering, surface preparation, mixing materials, and applying coat systems. You will also develop an understanding of health and safety, construction technology, and professional working practices within the construction sector.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of the Level 1 Certificate in Plastering or confident basic skills in plastering.
