About the course
Group work and study sessions will cover a wide range of topics including: - Clearing horticultural landscapes - Collecting and preparing propagation material - Establishing decorative areas - Establishing plants and seeds in soil - Levelling and preparing sites for landscaping - Maintaining and developing personal performance - Monitoring and maintaining health and safety - Monitoring and maintaining watering systems - Preparing ground for seeding and planting - Using and maintaining non-powered and hand-held power tools and equipment An integral part of the Apprenticeship will be the acquisition of functional skills which will equip Apprentices with a range of skills required by employers.

A minimum of two GCSEs at Grade 5 or above. Applicants must be hardworking, reliable and motivated. As part of the interview process, Apprentices will undertake a BKSB assessment in English, Mathematics and ICT. Applicants who do not meet the exact entry requirements but hold relevant industry experience are encouraged to apply. Applicants who do not meet the exact entry requirements may also be considered.
Competence is assessed through workplace visits and a portfolio. Knowledge is assessed via a portfolio and external examinations.
