I really enjoyed all aspects of the course: each module was interesting and informative. I always looked forward to attending the Academy: it’s really inspired me and now I’m ready for my next opportunity.

Lee had previously worked in a warehousing environment, and decided that refreshing his skills and further upskilling in Warehousing and Manufacturing, plus training to operate a Fork Lift Truck, would enhance his career prospects.

Although his latest jobs had seen him work in a range of care facilities, supporting vulnerable individuals, he wanted to return to manufacturing and knew that the City & Guilds qualifications he would achieve in Warehousing and Storage Operations, as well as Performing Manufacturing Operations, alongside his RTITB Fork Lift Truck Licence could open doors for him.

And that’s certainly the case as, shortly after completing his course at Themis Skills Academy, he was offered a role at FloControl, a leading Burnley manufacturer of parts for air cooling systems, with customers across the globe.

The Fork Lift Truck element of the course was a positive challenge: I enjoyed navigating the chicanes and practising loading the Wagon Back. It’s really set me up well for my career.
