About the course

Develop the skills and knowledge for employment as a Junior Beauty Therapist, as you have your beauty skills assessed in a real working environment. You will learn all the required elements to work effectively as a Beauty Therapist, including: facial skincare, enhancement of eyebrows and eyelashes, waxing services, manicures, pedicures, effectiveness at work, health and safety and promotion of products and services to clients.

Entry Requirements

Three GCSEs at Grade 4 or above in a good range of subjects including English and Mathematics or a relevant Level 1 qualification.

• Provide facial skin care treatment
• Enhance the appearance of eyebrows and eyelashes
• Carry out waxing services
• Provide manicure services
• Provide pedicure services
• Develop and maintain effectiveness at work
• Promote additional services or products to customers
• Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety

Practical assessments, portfolios and exams

Careers & Progression

On successful completion of this course, you may progress onto the Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy, begin your career as Junior Beauty Therapist in a commercial beauty salon or become a home-based or self-employed Beauty Therapist.
